Decloner has a staging area where files are staged for removal. You stage files from the list of duplicates instead of deleting them immediately, so that you could have a second chance at putting them back if you change your mind. By showing you the staged files in a single list, Decloner allows you to review the files before actually removing them from the file system, iPhoto or Aperture libraries.
To delete files in the staging area
- Select files to delete by clicking on them, holding down the Command key ⌘ for multiple selection.
-
Click Delete button to move selected files to Trash.
Click Delete & Link button to move selected files to Trash and replace them with aliases (bookmarks) pointing to the remaining file in their group.
Click Put Back button to un-stage selected files.
-
To make Decloner stop deleting files after you clicked Delete or Delete & Link, click Stop button on the right of the progress indicator.
Note that you cannot stop Decloner while it communicates with iPhoto or Aperture.
Staged files are preserved between scans and Decloner runs, so that you could run Decloner, stage files for deletion, and continue where you left off the next time you launch Decloner.
Notes
- Delete & Link feature is not available for files in iPhoto or Aperture libraries. If your selection contains such files, the Delete & Link button is disabled.
- Files on network volumes cannot be moved to Trash, as there is no Trash folder on such volumes. The first time you attempt to delete them, the files that could not be deleted are displayed with a cross icon
against them. Repeating the delete or delete & link operation on such files will delete them immediately without possibility to undo this action.
